While all records can be used as evidence, and so have a legal value, some records are generated specifically from the legal process: from the work of the courts, the police and public prosecutors. This module outlines the care of those records created by the institutions of the judiciary, police and public prosecutors.   Managing Personnel Records aims to help the records manager understand the role that records play in the whole range of issues involved with personnel management. Its goal is to assist both records managers and non-records staff, including line managers and personnel staff, to manage personnel records in support of public accountability and good governance. Clinical and non-clinical hospital records, indicating where particular approaches are needed to meet the specific requirements of a records service within a hospital environment.   Preservation is a crucial element in the whole operation of a records programme. The aim of archival preservation is to prolong the usable life of useful research
Information in two ways. First, preventive preservation seeks to reduce risks of
damage and to slow down the rate of deterioration. This aim is usually accomplished by selecting good quality materials and by providing suitable storage environments and safe handling procedures.
